Respecting your privacy and the law
Money Solutions Pty Ltd is committed to respecting your right to privacy and protecting your personal information. We support the National Privacy Principles in the Federal Privacy Act 1988 (the Privacy Act), and any relevant Privacy Principles under state legislation, as well as other applicable laws and codes affecting your personal information. Our staff are trained to respect your privacy in accordance with our standards, policies and procedures.
About this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy outlines how we manage your personal information. It also describes generally the sorts of personal information held and for what purposes, and how that information is collected, held, used and disclosed. Our Privacy Policy applies to all your dealings with us whether at one of our briefings or workshops, through our call centres or via our web site.
This Privacy Policy also forms part of our web site Terms and Conditions. By using the Working Money web site and the Service provided by it, you agree to be bound by the web site Terms and Conditions, including this Privacy Policy.

Collecting your personal information
When you use the Money Solutions products such as Workbooks or use our web site product, Working Money, we will collect and hold your personal information for the purposes of:
- providing you with the relevant education options, building your Money Action Plan
- providing you with Coaching Advice, Retirement Advice or Financial Planning services
- managing and administering the coaching and on-line service
Money Solutions may also collect your personal information for the purpose of letting you know about development of our advice and money education services. These are developed so that we might better serve your needs or provide other opportunities in which you may be interested.
The information collected may include your name, postal or e-mail address, financial details, details of your financial circumstances, or other information our organisation considers necessary to deliver our advice and education services.
We need to collect this information in order to provide you with services and information relevant to your current and ongoing needs. Without your personal information, we may not be able to provide services that address your specific circumstances.
We will, if it is reasonable or practicable to do so, collect your personal information only from you. This may happen when you fill out an application or an administrative form (eg a change of address form), or when you give us personal information over the telephone or through a Money Solutions web site.
If it is necessary for us to collect information from a third party, for example a superannuation trustee, your employer or a publicly available source, we will generally do this only with your prior consent, and only for the purposes described above.
Using and disclosing your personal information
We will generally only use your personal information for the purpose for which we collected it, and for closely related purposes (including providing further advice services and purposes as described below under "
Marketing our products and services").
In line with modern business practices common to many institutions and to meet your specific needs (such as where you have a financial planner or you contact a Money Solutions coach) we may disclose your personal information to the relevant organisations described below. Otherwise, we will only disclose your personal information with your prior consent, or as required or authorised by law (including under the Privacy Act).
Where your personal information is disclosed we will seek to ensure that the information is held, used or disclosed consistently with the National Privacy Principles and other applicable privacy laws and codes.
The relevant organisations are those
- involved in providing, managing or administering your product or service such as third party suppliers, loyalty and affinity program partners, printers, posting services, call centres, our advisers and the trustees of the funds which you are a member of.
- which are affiliated with Money Solutions who wish to tell you about their products or services that might better serve your money education needs or promotions or other opportunities, and their related service providers, except where you tell us you do not wish to be contacted by us or our affiliates. If you do not wish to be notified of new products or services, please let us know (see 'Contacting Us' section below).
- involved in maintaining, reviewing and developing our business systems, procedures and infrastructure including testing or upgrading our computer systems involved in the payments system including financial institutions, merchants and payment organisations
It is our practice to seek your consent to use or disclose your personal information to let you know about, and develop education products and advice services from affiliated organisations that might better serve your financial, e-commerce and lifestyle needs or promotions or other opportunities in which you may be interested. This may be done after an initial marketing contact.

Keeping your personal information accurate and up-to-date
We aim to make sure that the personal information we collect, use or disclose is accurate, complete and up-to-date. We will take reasonable steps to make sure this is the case. This way we can provide you with better service.

Protecting your personal information
We store information in different ways, including in paper and electronic form. The security of your personal information is important to us and we take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse and loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Some of the ways we do this are:
- confidentiality requirements for our employees
- document storage security policies
- security measures for systems access
- providing a discreet environment for confidential discussions
- only allowing access to personal information where the individual seeking access has satisfied our identification requirements
- access control from our buildings
- the security measures described below under "Our Websites"
Except where we are legally required to retain information, we will destroy, or return to you, all your personal information once you cease registration or use of the Working Money web site, or a reasonable time thereafter.
Your privacy on the Internet
Our Web sites
We take care to ensure that the personal information you give us on our web sites is protected. For example, our web sites have electronic security systems in place, including the use of firewalls and data encryption. User identifiers, passwords or other access codes may also be used to control access to your personal information.
You may be able to access external web sites by clicking on links we have provided. Those other web sites are not subject to our privacy standards, policies and procedures. You will need to contact or review those web sites directly to ascertain their privacy standards, policies and procedures.
Although encryptions and passwords are used on our web site, the Internet is never 100% secure and there is a chance that someone may access personal information that is transmitted on-line. Money Solutions is not responsible for this. You are also solely responsible for the confidentiality of your password and login details. Use of "Cookies"
A "cookie" is a small data file transferred by a web site to your computer's hard drive. We send cookies when you surf our Web site or request information. Accepting the cookies used on our Web site does not give us access to personal information about you, but we can use the cookies to identify your computer. The aggregate information collected permits us to analyse traffic patterns on our Web site. This can enable us over time to provide you with a better experience on by improving the content and making it easier to use.
Most browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually refuse cookies, or selectively accept certain cookies, by adjusting the preferences in your browser. If you turn off cookies, though, there may be some features of our Web site that will not be available to you and some web pages may not display properly.
Gaining access to your personal information
You can gain access to, and update, most of your personal information by simply logging onto Working Money and choosing to edit your details.
You can also request that we provide you with access to other personal information we hold about you, but such requests may be subject to some exceptions allowed by law (which are set out in the Privacy Act).
We will always try to give you reasons if we deny you access to any personal information we hold about you.

Your sensitive information
We generally do not need to collect "sensitive information" about you (eg. information that reveals your racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs or affiliations, membership of a professional or trade association, membership of a trade union, details of health, disability, sexual orientation, or criminal record).
However, if we need to collect any sensitive information for the purpose of providing services to you, we will only do so with your prior consent or as expressly permitted by law (including under the Privacy Act).
Resolving your privacy issues
If you have any issues you wish to raise with Money Solutions, or would like to discuss any issues about our Privacy Policy, then you are able to do so a number of ways:
- You are always welcome to speak directly to our staff and they will do their best to resolve your issue. If investigation is required we will keep you advised of progress. If staff are unable to resolve the matter, it will be escalated as appropriate to facilitate resolution.
